Music

INTENT

Our music curriculum intends to: -

  • Enable understanding of rhythm and beat
  • Foster a love of singing, composing and performing
  • Enable all to experience the skills required to learn to play an instrument

All children will be taught the skills and knowledge of music as outlined in the programmes of study in the National Curriculum for Music.

Our main aim is to promote enjoyment of music. The children will be given opportunities to participate in performing music and to listen attentively to a variety of music, developing knowledge of musical elements and traditions.

Music tuition is provided by the Lincolnshire Music Service which enables the children to have access to a range of wind and string instruments. They are also encouraged to perform during assemblies either through singing or playing instruments, to develop their confidence.
